The way to reference Internet 'Web' material is actually quite straightforward.

In your footnote or bibliography entry (explained in the general referencing advice) give the:

• author (where available)
• title of paper (where available)
• book or journal date and page details (where available)
• the web site address IN FULL, preceded by a '<' and followed by a '>', (e.g. <www.etc,etc>) Website addresses can be long but they are needed 'in full' if your referencing is to be accurate, precise and verifiable

EXAMPLE !

D. Scott, 'Nikitin's adoption of Islam in India: a translator's dilemma', Entertext, 3, 2001, 30 pages, at <http://www.brunel.ac.uk/faculty/arts/EnterText/1_3_pdfs/scott.pdf>.
